I’m Sarah Morgan, the person behind Paper Memories and Sarah Mae Artworks.

I’ve been creating, designing and making things for over 25 years, and what started with my own wedding stationery has grown into two creative businesses.

A little more about me

Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m doing something that gets me away from the computer. I love swimming, motorbikes and music, as well as spending time in nature and photographing the wildlife and little creatures I come across.

I’m also a big fan of gothic, magical and alternative aesthetics, which probably explains quite a lot about Sarah Mae! I love discovering new ideas and inspiration in everything from nature and folklore to art, music and the wonderfully unusual.

It’s these varied interests that keep me inspired and, more often than not, end up finding their way into something I’m creating.

Two brands. One creative home.

I’m Sarah Morgan, the founder and designer behind Paper Memories and Sarah Mae Artworks.

I’ve always been creative. As a child I loved drawing, and over the years that grew into a love of painting, design and making things by hand.

In 2001, that creativity became Paper Memories — a business born from my own wedding experience and a desire to create beautiful, personal stationery and keepsakes that people could treasure.

Today, Paper Memories and Sarah Mae Artworks are two established brands, each with its own personality, but both created from the same love of design and creativity.

How Paper Memories began

When I was planning my own wedding, I loved every part of the preparations, but I struggled to find the wedding stationery I had imagined.

After weeks of searching, I eventually thought, “Why don’t I make my own?”

So I did.

I designed and created my own invitations, guest book, guest list and photo albums — and loved every minute of it. The wonderful feedback from my guests gave me the confidence to take my hobby further.

In 2001, I took the leap and founded Paper Memories.

Over the years the business has evolved, but its heart has remained the same: creating beautiful wedding stationery, guest books, albums and keepsakes designed to become part of life’s special memories.

The story of Sarah Mae

Then, in 2020, everything changed.

Like so many small businesses, Paper Memories was affected by the pandemic. With weddings cancelled and work suddenly quiet, I found myself with something I rarely had before — time.

I’d always wanted to develop my graphic design skills, so I enrolled on an online graphic design course and gained my diploma.

What began as a way to develop my skills for Paper Memories opened up a completely new creative direction.

Sarah Mae Artworks was born.

I began designing greeting cards and artwork and opened an Etsy shop. What started during an uncertain time quickly grew into a fully established business in its own right.

Today, Sarah Mae has grown beyond greeting cards and now includes artwork, gifts and a growing collection of alternative, gothic, magical and nature-inspired designs.

Although Paper Memories and Sarah Mae are different, they share the same creative foundation.

Paper Memories is all about weddings, celebrations and meaningful keepsakes.

Sarah Mae Artworks gives me the freedom to explore artwork, greeting cards and gifts inspired by the gothic, magical, pagan, natural and wonderfully unusual.

Bringing both brands together means I can share everything I love creating in one place — from elegant wedding stationery to darker and more alternative designs.
